The San Diego Space Society was founded in 2008 with the purpose of raising awareness and educating the general public to the benefits of human exploration of space and San Diego's role in space development, as well as to the idea of creating a spacefaring civilization within our lifetimes.

SD Space meets monthly at the Serra Mesa Branch Library and participates in space-related events around San Diego Country and Southern California. The general public is welcome to attend any meeting listed on this site.

MyMoon Webcast with author Francis French

MyMoon holds a biweekly webcast featuring lunar scientists, authors, and artists. Each presenter speaks about themselves for a few minutes then the rest of the conversation is up to you! Each presenter speaks about themselves for a few minutes then the rest of the conversation is up to you! The next webcast will feature local San Diegan (well Oceansideian to be exact), Francis French.

Francis is the Director of Education at the San Diego Air & Space Museum. He is also the co-author of two award-winning space history books, Into That Silent Sea, and In the Shadow of the Moon. In addition to discussing his two books, which chronicle the first eight years of American and Russian manned spaceflight, Francis will spend most of his time answering user submitted questions.
