MyMoon holds a biweekly webcast featuring lunar scientists, authors, and artists. Each presenter speaks about themselves for a few minutes then the rest of the conversation is up to you! The next webcast will feature local San Diegan (well Oceansideian to be exact), Francis French.
Francis is the Director of Education at the San Diego Air & Space Museum. He is also the co-author of two award-winning space history books,Into That Silent Sea, and In the Shadow of the Moon. In addition to discussing his two books, which chronicle the first eight years of American and Russian manned spaceflight, Francis will spend most of his time answering user submitted questions.

Follow us on a journey through the real science of alien life and into the furthest reaches of your imagination. Get up-close and personal with some classic science fiction films and props, then come face-to-face with the weird creatures that inhabit Earth, before exploring far-flung planets and stars.
Enter the ‘Alien Worlds’ of leading scientists and meet the aliens they have imagined in a unique hands-on environment.

San Diego Mars Rover
San Diego Space Society and the Mars Society-San Diego will be taking our Mars Rovers out for a visit to Mr. Knox’s classroom from 10:30am to noon at the Chula Vista Nature Center. There will be a multimedia presentation about Mars, then the children will get an opportunity to teleoperate a Mars Rover replica.

The San Diego Space Society is hosting SpaceUp, the first space exploration unconference open to all, where participants decide the topics, schedule, and structure of the event. Unconferences (sometimes called BarCamps) have been held about technology, science, transit, and even cupcakes, but this is the first one focused on space exploration.
Join attendees from local space companies like SpaceX, Masten, and XCOR, organizations like the Google Lunar X Prize, AIAA, and CSTART, startups like Quicklaunch and Unreasonable Rocket, local universities, and of course the San Diego Space Society.
