Mike Griffin On NASA’s Future
Posted by Chris Radcliff in News on February 1, 2009
Former NASA Administrator Michael Griffin talked to MSNBC today about the anniversary of losing Columbia, the Obama transition, and NASA’s future. The video of the interview is recommended viewing, if only because he states the case for human space exploration so well:
History is not a story about the people who stayed behind. History is about and is written by the people who occupy and extend and learn to live on the frontier. That’s what space exploration is all about. It’s about extending human presence one more time into places we’ve never been.
Not surprisingly, though, the MSNBC website chooses to label the interview with a headline about how risky the Shuttle is. Oh, well; two steps forward, one step back.
