Join us for the biggest event on the SD Space social calendar: a World Space Party!
Yuri’s Night is a celebration of humanity’s achievements in space. Each April, people from around the world come together to mark the anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s first flight into space (in 1961) and the first launch of the US Space Shuttle (in 1981). Everyone can participate, so come and join us in celebrating our past–and our future–in outer space!
This year we’ll have two speakers to entertain you: Francis French, Education Director for the San Diego Air & Space Museum, and Rica Sirbaugh French, Professor of Astronomy at MiraCosta College. Scott Borden, space agent for Virgin Galactic, will also stop by with an update on SpaceShipTwo.
A donation of $10 per person is suggested to help cover costs. If you plan to be there, please RSVP to events@sdspace.org so we can better estimate the size of the crowd.
UPDATE: Due to a scheduling mix-up, officer and board member elections will also be held at this event. If you can’t attend but would still like to vote in the election, please contact elections@sdspace.org before April 11th to request a ballot.

I was planning on going, and was in San Diego for this, but for some reason, my brain decided to mix everything up with something else I had planned! I went to my scheduled event at 4p, instead of 10p, thinking that everyone ditched me, I went back, completely under the belief that this Yuri’s Night Party was at 10p! Good job, Harley! lol.. So, how was it?
